Andy Botha has been appointed chief operating officer at Ceridian in the UK reporting to managing director, Doug Sawers. Andy previously held the position of chief finance officer.
Commenting on the appointment, Doug Sawers said: “Andy has been with Ceridian for two years and in that time has been instrumental in strengthening our financial controls and in driving a more commercially and financially disciplined focus across our business. Andy’s new challenges will be to maintain and improve wherever possible the excellent service our customers receive, and to facilitate business development and growth.”
Andy Botha joined Ceridian in April 2005 from lastminute.com, where he was finance director. He has considerable experience in managing and integrating organisational change. Before lastminute.com, he held finance director positions at Holiday Autos and Bridge the World and was also finance and operations director of an advertising agency. For nearly seven years, he ran his own business advisory practice providing a full range of management services to the SME market place.
Aged 40, Andy qualified as a chartered accountant with Grant Thornton. On qualification, Andy spent time with a fund management practice providing advice to entrepreneurial companies.
