Ceridian gains the TRG Advantage

14 May 2007

Ceridian, world leader in human resource services, has acquired the intellectual property rights of TRG advantage (TRG) for its human capital management solutions.

In a clear indication of future strategic direction, Ceridian, one of the largest providers of human resource services in the world, has acquired the intellectual property rights from TRG Advantage (TRG), based in Hamilton, for its suite of on-demand, human capital management solutions. As part of this transaction, the entire technical team responsible for the creation will also transfer to Ceridian, ensuring continuity of development.

The online solutions purchased will be integrated with existing Ceridian technologies and services to provide small, medium and growing businesses in the UK with access to the same efficiency and innovation in HR and payroll that larger organisations already enjoy. Ceridian will also further enhance its talent acquisition offering to mid-market and corporate clients, helping them make hiring more effective through a combination of service and technology options, powered by TRG's leading internet based e-Recruitment suite.

David Woodward, chief information officer for Ceridian in the UK, said: “The purchase of the intellectual property from TRG represents excellent synergy with our own solution offerings, especially given TRG’s strengths in the hospitality and retail sectors. The technology TRG has developed will allow us to accelerate our growth plans in the SME HR/payroll space, while also allowing us to expand our talent acquisition service offerings via their e-recruitment solution.

“As part of the transaction, all key staff members will transfer to Ceridian.  Indeed the calibre of the staff was a very important factor for us.  Ceridian is dedicated to hiring the best talent and we recognised very quickly that as part of the deal we would also be gaining a team of experts who excel at delivering solutions via the web. We look forward to integrating them into our development team where we expect to utilise their skills and knowledge to enhance our leading range of human capital management solutions.”

It was clear from the beginning of our discussions that Ceridian shared our vision for web-delivered services within the employee management arena. We are delighted to be joining an HR services provider with such an excellent reputation and are very excited about the array of services that we will now be able to offer in conjunction with the software.Nick Thomson, managing director of TRG Advantage
