The UK’s tumultuous year has resulted in growing unemployment figures, as research finds that nearly two fifths (39%) of UK companies would prefer to upskill and train current employees than invest in hiring new personnel (33%). The survey conducted by European HR and payroll services provider SD Worx, found that when compared to other European countries, both the UK and Ireland fall behind in the trend of hiring permanent, pay rolled employees.
Learnings from the past eight months have highlighted that the majority of UK employees would prefer to have more digital options when handling HR-related issues. When it comes to productivity, a survey conducted by HR and payroll services provider SD Worx found that 45.5% of employees in the UK are only moderately satisfied when it comes to their digital HR tools for employees.
The European HR & payroll services provider SD Worx and MobileXpense announce the expansion of their partnership across Europe to further help businesses in their day-to-day payroll and expense management. As part of their collaboration, both companies will co-develop new digital expense management solutions. MobileXpense and SD Worx partner on a global scale, and will initially focus on Germany and the UK as key markets.
Despite technology being the saving grace for many businesses within the UK, a new survey by HR & Payroll services provider SD Worx reveals only 36% of HR departments within the country are able to boast of a high level of digital maturity when it comes to HR and payroll. The survey conducted within 11 European countries also found that only 9.4% of UK businesses have implemented a fully automated, digitised and/or integrated HR and payroll process or system.
