Royal Bank of Scotland renews one of the biggest multinational EAP deals with Ceridian UK

Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), the third largest financial services group in Europe, has signed a new five-year, multi-million pound deal with Ceridian, one of the largest providers of human resource services in the world, for the supply of one of the biggest multinational Employee Assistance Programme (EAPs). Under the terms of the new contract, Ceridian’s LifeWorks division will provide EAP and health and wellness services to 140,000 RBS employees in over 20 countries around the world. The new deal follows an in-depth competitive review and extends the existing seven-year relationship with Ceridian.

Doug Sawers, managing director of Ceridian in the UK, commented:

This is a major contract renewal for our LifeWorks division and reinforces our view that we are the best EAP provider. The agreement with RBS represents one of the largest multinational EAP contracts and we won it in the face of stiff competition from 14 other providers. Retaining a client such as RBS is a real endorsement of the quality of our service delivery, our innovative approach and the dedication and commitment of the LifeWorks team.

EAPs will play an increasingly important role in human capital management as companies bid to acquire and retain the best talent. As a major service provider, RBS recognises the inherent value that LifeWorks delivers to its employee base in enabling them to work more effectively. We have an agreed programme for delivering even more innovative new EAP solutions to RBS employees and our new online reporting will not only allow RBS access to business critical data but also provide an accurate return on investment.
