SD Worx simplifies regulatory complexity for employers across Europe with AI driven SD Worx Legal Watch

Legal Watch

SD Worx, the leading European provider of HR and payroll solutions is launching SD Worx Legal Watch, an innovative regulatory monitoring platform that helps organisations stay compliant in an increasingly complex and fast‑changing legal landscape. Powered by advanced AI technology and developed together with AI specialist Faktion, the solution enables SD Worx to translate regulatory change into reliable, timely and actionable insights. Customers benefit from proactive compliance support that keeps pace with change, reduces risk and frees up valuable time to focus on people and growth.

Across HR, payroll and workforce management, organisations face constant regulatory change arising at European, national, regional and collective labour agreement level, as well as through adjacent domains such as privacy and data protection legislation that directly impact HR data.

These updates can occur last-minute or even without warning, differ widely across countries and have a direct impact on employer obligations and employee pay. Missing or misinterpreting a legal change can lead to compliance risks, financial penalties and reputational damage. SD Worx Legal Watch is designed to tackle these challenges at scale and help customers anticipate and comply with the complex European legislative labour landscape.

Combining AI scale with human legal expertise

SD Worx built Legal Watch around a clear principle: AI handles scale and speed, while human experts provide judgement. The platform uses AI to continuously monitor hundreds of trusted legal sources across multiple countries, detect relevant changes in legal documents and assess their potential business impact.

SD Worx’s legal experts then review, validate and refine these insights before they are translated into customer communications and operational updates where appropriate. This allows SD Worx to provide customers much more quickly with consistent, up‑to‑date legal intelligence that supports compliant payroll and HR processes in every market where they operate. By continuously capturing legal expertise and feeding it back into the platform, the solution becomes smarter over time, turning institutional knowledge into a lasting advantage for customers.

“The regulatory landscape is becoming more complex every year, especially for employers operating across borders. With SD Worx Legal Watch, we combine the power of AI with more than 80 years of legal expertise. The platform significantly reduces manual work for legal teams and lowers the risk of missing critical updates. For customers, this translates into greater confidence that payroll calculations, HR processes and workforce policies remain fully compliant with local and European regulations.”

To bring SD Worx Legal Watch from concept to production, SD Worx worked closely with Faktion, a specialist in building AI platforms for HR and payroll environments. The collaboration focused on translating an initial proof of concept into a robust, secure and scalable platform that SD Worx fully owns and controls.

“Regulatory change is accelerating and fragmenting across Europe, while at the same time the technology available to understand, interpret and act on that change is evolving at an unprecedented pace. The organisations that will lead are those that make it their business to stay ahead on both fronts: first to detect change, first to understand it, first to interpret what it means, and first to translate that knowledge into real value for clients. That is where the true strategic advantage lies. SD Worx is investing exactly in that capability, combining deep European domain expertise with state-of-the-art agentic AI systems to strengthen its position at the forefront of regulatory intelligence and client impact, says Bart Baeyens, CEO at Faktion.

    Designed to grow with customers

Customers access legal and regulatory updates, insights, and answers to their HR and payroll questions directly through mysdworx, where they can easily submit queries and find clear, reliable guidance tailored to their needs. Behind the scenes, SD Worx Legal Watch continuously monitors and validates relevant developments. All insights will be centrally managed in a content management system and automatically translated into customer‑friendly content. This ensures that mysdworx consistently delivers accurate, up‑to‑date information within the trusted SD Worx ecosystem, without adding complexity for customers.

SD Worx Legal Watch shows how AI can deliver real business value when it is embedded in expert workflows. Designed for legal experts rather than technologists, the platform allows sources to be configured using plain‑language instructions. As a result, legal teams can independently onboard new countries, domains or regulatory sources, ensuring the platform evolves in line with business needs.

SD Worx Legal Watch is currently being introduced in Germany, Luxembourg, Spain, Sweden and the Netherlands, with additional countries across Europe following soon.
